Position Available: Sales Representative
Are you interested in working for a dynamic, growing company that provides exceptional pay for exceptional performance? This position is purely commission based. In addition to closing sales, suitable candidates will be expected to provide client service as required. The ideal candidate will be looking for EditNew to augment their existing income – as there are no monthly or quarterly sales quotas.
What does EditNew do? We convert websites from being static to being editable. (In “geek-speak”, we specialize in converting HTML websites onto our proprietary CMS which publishes in HTML).
What value does EditNew provide to clients? 1. You can easily update your own website content in real-time. 2. You can create an unlimited number of photo galleries to showcase your products and services. 3. You will have a webstore you can instantly update. 4. You can track online inventory & sales. 5. Your business will get found in the search engines (without paying a "search-engine-optimization" company). 6. You can create a "private-access" section of your website for customers/distributors/vendors, etc. 7. You will have an email newsletter - just by clicking a button on your website. Of course, all of these functions are performed simply and intuitively with a few hours of training (which is provided).
How much does EditNew cost? Typically the price to the customer is between $2000.00 to $5000.00 plus $15.00 per month in licensing fees.
There are exceptions when we deem it necessary to charge more than the base rate - this usually happens when there is a lot of content to move during the conversion (over 30 pages) or the existing site is very complex and needs custom coding to convert onto the platform. We have found the best way to avoid mis-pricing EditNew is to review the project with our Project Manager to ensure the project is priced correctly. How much do I get paid? Sales Representatives receive a percentage of the total sale price. Call us to learn about our very competitive pricing structure.
How Soon do I get paid? You are paid immediately on receipt of payment in full from the client.
Does EditNew provide me with leads? Yes. We have an affiliate program which provides qualified leads to Sales Representatives. These leads come with a cost to EditNew. Therefore, we allocate our top leads to our top Sales Representatives.
Can I mentor others to become my own affiliates? Yes. However, they must be approved by our project manager. We take great pride in being, first and foremost, a high quality service company with high standards of conduct. If an individual you are mentoring becomes a particularly productive sales generator, they can choose independently to become a sales representative. However, their mentor must approve.
Can I offer “special” pricing or discounts? There is very little room to lower the price, as our margins are very thin. However, we do review and consider discounts on a case-by-case basis if there is a compelling business reason to do so. When discounting, both EditNew and the Sales Representative share the burden of a decreased payout.
Who is your target market? EditNew caters to SMEs (small to medium size businesses) and Design Houses servicing SMEs:
Target Markets:
Primary: SMEs (small to medium size businesses) - They have an existing website that is static. Their website has become an under-utilized sunk cost. We make it usable again. - They want a web store and have the capacity to manage another distribution channel. - They lack technical web sophistication – and see the value of our expertise. - They understand the value of a “living” website they can instantly change as circumstances require. - They are currently frustrated with the lack of ability to manage site content - They have a business with products/services that change regularly and they need to communicate these changes to their customers - They are usually segmented in two types: - Entrepreneurial females - Businesses that produce a physical product Secondary: Design Houses servicing SMEs - They are usually a smaller, boutique design house. - Their niche is to offer unique, cost effective design solutions. We provide the programming/CMS expertise. - They understand the competitive advantage of providing their customers with a CMS – before it is commonplace. - They consider EditNew to be a “value-added” service to their existing portfolio.
Are there target markets to AVOID? Yes!
1) NGOs – any non-profit organizations. Our turnaround time for project completion is so efficient, we prefer to deal with companies that can make quick decisions – and we price our services accordingly. Although NGOs understand the value of our product (and often contact us for projects), project completion and payment collection is usually a lengthy and difficult process, requiring many meetings – which usually results in no profit margin. 2) Micro and hobby businesses – If the business owner lacks the ability to delegate, we should avoid soliciting their business. When there is only one person involved in the business, they tend to “over-think” the many usages of EditNew and have constant requests for changes. This quickly turns a small project into a large profit-losing endeavor for us.
3) Big businesses – If the business is big enough to have an internal “tech” department servicing their website, we’re not a great solution. We’re a threat to that department’s longevity. People rarely purchase business solutions which make them redundant.
Who competes with EditNew? We maintain both a price and service advantage against our competition. The three areas of competition in the marketplace are:
1. Opensource CMS. These are free. We call them “low cost, high pain”. The “fee” is enticing, however opensource requires a relatively advanced level of technical skill for installation, customization and updating. This level of technical skill is often beyond the scope of small/medium businesses. The cost to find this expertise is well over the $2000 cost for EditNew. ***Opensource is a good solution for the “do-it-yourself” crowd.
2. Proprietary CMS. These are customized to the client – which can make them easy to operate and service. However, custom coded database infrastructure projects come with significant cost. Again, the cost to find and maintain this expertise is well over $2000. ***Proprietary CMS is a good solution for “big-business”
3. “Full-Service” CMS for SMEs (that’s us). Our product offering is similar to our closest competitor. However, our pricing structure is very different. Their solution starts at $4999.00 for five user access. EditNew offers access to an unlimited number of users for $2000.00. ***EditNew is not for “do-it-yourself” - nor is it for big business. We excel as a niche solution for the SME.
Where is EditNew located? The head office for EditNew is located in Victoria, BC, Canada. Jeremiah Archambault is the founder. He maintains the operational position of Sales Manager.
Mike Maclean is the Project Manager and over sees the daily operations of EditNew. Mike is also overseeing the development of new markets - in particular the venture into Whistler. The Whistler sales rep will report directly to Mike, who will provide strategic direction and support as required.
The rest of the team is “virtually located”. Our programmers, trainers, developers and technical support all work from home. We are all advocates of an open culture of payment for performance. Expect to be supported and valued. Nobody at EditNew is an administrator.
